The Life Cycle of the Migrating Monarch Butterfly

Join Dr. Kingston Leong and Holly Sletteland in search of overwintering Monarch Butterflies in the Monterey Pine Forest.  Dr. Leong is a retired biology professor emeritus at Cal Poly who has studied Monarch Butterflies for over 25 years.  He will provide an overview of the life cycle, migration, and overwintering habitat of the Monarch Butterflies.  Holly Sletteland will discuss efforts to monitor and improve habitat on the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve.  Bring a lawn chair if you choose, as there is no seating available.  Wear long pants and closed toe shoes to protect from poison oak.  Reservations are required.
