Saturday November 30, 9:00 am - Noon
FFRP is taking a break from our traditional Thanksgiving Tree Planting, but you can still work off your Thanksgiving feasting on the Ranch. We will meet at the Highway 1 entrance to the west Ranch by the Santa Rosa Creek Bridge. Instead of planting trees this year we will be tending the native plantings in the Santa Rosa Creek Restoration project area. Then we will take a guided walk to look at our past Thanksgiving plantings and talk about the native Monterey pine forest.
Saturday, December 7th from 2:00 - 4:30 pm.
Please join Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve for an afternoon of holiday music on Saturday, December 7th from 2:00 until 4:30 pm at the Fogs End Barn, 2735 Main St. in Cambria. Seasonal favorites will be provided by Ron Perry, vocals, hammer dulcimer and keyboard, and Mary Schwalbe, vocals and acoustic guitar.
Both musicians have professional music backgrounds, mostly in southern California. Mary was a church soloist for twenty-two years and sang opera as well as performing in musicals in the Long Beach area before moving to Cambria two years ago. Ron, who plays multiple instruments, taught music in Fullerton for thirty-three years before moving to Cambria in 2011. He also directed music at churches and played in several rock bands. Mary and met on the Ranch, Mary doing invasive weekly weed removal and Ron stopping to find out how he could volunteer. They discovered their shared musical interest and have been playing together since.
Hors d’oeuvres, warm holiday beverages and a wine bar, along with a raffle will round out the evening’s entertainment.
Come and celebrate the season and support the Ranch. Tickets, $15.00, are available at the Cambria Chamber of Commerce and at the door.
