Grant Writer / Project Manager Staff Position Opens

Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve (FFRP) is looking for a Grant Writer / Project Manager to work with our executive director and board of directors to fund projects for a 437 acre open space in the heart of Cambria, California. The position is part time, flexible, with compensation of $25.00 per hour for approximately 1040 hours.

FFRP will be accepting applications from March 1, 2015 until March 15, 2015. Interviews will be conducted during March, and a hiring decision will be made by March 31, 2015.

The Grant Writer / Project Manager will be expected to:

  • Research grants that will support FFRP Board’s prioritized projects
  • Write grants with input from the Board of Directors and Executive Director
  • Manage grant projects
  • Co-ordinate with volunteers and staff on grant projects
  • Write follow up reports; manage monitoring of projects and any other follow up required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Effective oral/written communication skills. Well-defined organizational and time management skills, able to work independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat
  • Able to deal effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of ethnic, racial, religious background or socio-economic level.
  • Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting in such a manner as to assure at all times maximum safety to one’s self and volunteers.
  • Proven grant writing record.
  • Knowledge of social media and web platforms and non-profit experience preferred.

Application Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid CA Driver’s License with minimum of 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets FFRP’s insurance requirements. May be required to utilize personal vehicle and personal auto insurance.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification will be required before volunteer management.
